What should be done if a tooth is knocked out?

Call your Dentist and request an emergency appointment.  The sooner you get to the Dentist, the better chance you will have of saving the tooth.  After 30 minutes, your chances are decreased, but it is still possible to save the tooth.  However, after an hour, there is little chance of saving it.  If you have the tooth, rinse it but don't wipe or scrub it, even if it's very dirty, or you could damage the tooth's structure.  Place the tooth between your cheek and your gum, and get to your dentist immediately.  If there's any possibility of swallowing the tooth, place it in a glass of water or milk.  Do not try to place the tooth back into the socket; you could make the injury worse and decrease your chances of saving it.

If the tooth has not been knocked out completely, try using light finger pressure to push it back into its normal position, but do not force it back. Again, you must get to your dentist within an hour, and preferably within 30 minutes.

If you injure the inside of your mouth, what should you do?

Clean the wound and get to an emergency room as soon as possible. Control the bleeding by pressing a gauze pad or a clean cloth to the wound.
